Assistant Professor, Personality/Counseling Psychology (Tenure Track)

The Psychology Department at Ohio Wesleyan University seeks to fill a tenure track position in personality/counseling psychology to begin August 2012. The successful candidate will teach six courses per year including introductory psychology, personality theory and psychological assessment, psychological adjustment, and courses in his/her area of specialization. Preference will be given to those prepared to teach one or more of the following: psychology of gender, cross-cultural psychology, history of psychology, and inter-group relations.

Candidates should have a Ph. D. in psychology completed by August 1, 2012, a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts context, and a well-articulated plan for an active research program that involves advanced undergraduates. Postdoctoral research and evidence of teaching excellence are preferred.

  3. a teaching portfolio including a statement of interests, syllabi, and course evaluations
  4. a statement of research interests and sample reprints or preprints of recent work, and
  5. three letters of reference.
