![]() Job Posting Assistant Professor, Sociology Ohio Wesleyan University Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Sociology, beginning in August 2010. Responsibilities: Successful candidate will teach and conduct research on Middle Eastern peoples and cultures. In addition to teaching department course on Middle Eastern peoples and cultures, candidate will teach courses in three of the following areas: Social theory, race and ethnicity, social change, urban sociology, social movements and sociology of religion. Candidate will also be expected to teach introductory sociology. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in sociology (by the time of appointment) Evidence of ability to teach and conduct research on Middle Eastern peoples and cultures as well as experience conducting research on Middle East. Ability to teach introductory sociology and courses in three of the following areas: social theory, race and ethnicity, sociology of religion, social change, urban sociology and social movements.
