Ohio Wesleyan University, an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the NCAC (North Coast Athletic Conference), has an opening for a Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach  for the 2008-2009 academic year. This is a full-time, twelve month  position. Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level or significant playing experience, with preference given to collegiate level experience.  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to recruit quality student-athletes, a commitment to building a strong NCAA Division III program, and a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Job Description:  The duties of the Head Women’s Lacrosse  Coach include all aspects of organizing, directing and administering a women’s lacrosse program including skill/technique instruction, scheduling, recruiting, budget preparation/management, fund-raising, and public relations. The Head Coach will assist in other capacities including assisting in a second sport as assigned by the athletic director.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of organizing, directing and administering a women’s lacrosse program including skill/technique instruction, scheduling, recruiting, budget preparation/management, fund-raising, and public relations. The candidate should have a demonstrated commitment to the academic success of student-athletes and will possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Additional duties include assisting in a second sport and limited teaching responsibilities in the PE Department. Must have a driver’s license and a good driving record. Ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the nature and goals of a liberal arts college and be able to work within an academic setting with a commitment to student development.
