Ohio Wesleyan University, a private undergraduate liberal arts university, invites applications for the position of Accounting Manager. Located in Delaware, Ohio twenty miles north of Columbus, Ohio Wesleyan is a campus of 1,800 students, located on 200 acres and 60 buildings.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President & Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for updating and overseeing general ledger accounting, grant management, financial aid recordkeeping and endowment accounting. In addition, the Accounting Manager maintains close working relationships with other University offices, providing information on budgets and expenditures and training on the University’s accounting system. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for the completion of relevant endowment surveys and annual reporting requirements to federal and state and other regulatory agencies.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree (CPA or masters degree preferred) and a minimum of three years experience, preferably in a higher education environment. An ability to understand accounting concepts as they relate to higher education is highly desirable. Working knowledge of federal and state grant regulations related to not for profits preferred. Experience supervising staff is highly desirable. Attentiveness to detail, strong organizational skills, strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team are essential attributes. The ability to work independently, proactively and with strategic insight is required. Positive attitude is a must. Experience with MS Office and analytic/presentation software preferred. System implementation experience is a plus.
