New York Arts Program / Program Coordinator

The New York Arts Program is a non-profit one-semester off-campus study experience that creates apprenticeships between professional artists or arts organizations in New York City and students from OWU and other undergraduate colleges. Position is located in New York City.

Responsibilities:

The OHIO WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY/NEW YORK ARTS PROGRAM is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator serves under the direction of the Program’s Executive Director to manage day-to-day and long-term Program needs. Duties include but are not limited to reception and general office management; supervision of residential staff; records management for a staff of 6 and student body of approximately 4; and bookkeeping.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Serving as full-time Program receptionist and administrative assistant to the Director.
  • Overseeing student interface with the Program, including application processing, interview scheduling, registration billing and maintaining student and Program records in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Supervising the Residence Manager, housekeeping, and student RAs to maintain the office and residence facilities, including oversight of repairs and improvements.
  • Assisting the Director in planning, organizing, and implementing annual meetings and orientation events; and support the Director in pursuing and developing earned and contributed income opportunities.
  • Assisting the Director in maintaining liaison with affiliated campuses, including providing recruiting materials and coordinate recruiting trips for Program faculty and staff.
  • Maintaining supplies for office and residence needs; interface with various vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Maintaining Program Web site; troubleshoot wireless network and provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of five years office experience, including basic bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with Macintosh computers and Apple Software as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Filemaker Pro or similar programs.
  • Familiarity with New York City and the arts is a plus.
